Loved The Long Weekend!!

I can't tell you the last time I had two days off in a row!!!!! I usually work 6 days a week so I loved not going in yesterday! Mind you, I love my job (I teach taekwondo) but I enjoyed being home with my family!!!

This is another swap card -- I never seem to get them done!! I used Doodle This for the first time, Watercolor vine jumbo wheel and All Year Cheer. I used watercolor crayons on the flower - looks kinda washed out on the scan, plus added Stickles for some zing. It's raised up for the added dimension that I absolutely love!!! Ribbon, paper piercing, and gold brads complete the project.

Once this round of swaps is over, I'll get to play with all the new rubber I've been buying!! I can't wait!!

Color Challenge

I haven't done a challenge in forever so of course I would do the color challenge!!! And of course I pulled out Blossoms Abound! I love color and today's were Old olive, Vintage violet, and Certainly celery. I sponged all three layers on top of the card. The background was done in violet Floral then overstamped with Aida in white then run thru the Cuttlebug and embossed. The scan doesn't show it off very well. I even pierced the corners. Fun stamping, now I must get working on some swap cards!!!

OSW #5

The fifth card in my One Sheet Wonder. I just had to get a scalloped punch in there somewhere!!

OSW #4

Yep, here's the fourth card of my installment.

Yesterday was stamp camp -- only 7 ladies showed up!! That is my worse showing ever!!! I have another one the end of the month -- different crowd so maybe they'll come!!!

I'm getting the end of the school year count down from my DS (he will soon be 12 and is having the pre-teen attitude already -- sweet as pie to Dad but mean as a hornet to Mom!!). 8 days left before I start hearing "Mom, what can I do, I'm bored!"

OSW #3

Yep. card #3. I used the canvas background on the upper portion of the card only. Again my colors are the current In Colors which I will miss dearly when they're gone. That doesn't mean I won't fall in love with the new ones but I will miss these. Better stock up!!

One Sheet Wonder Class

I held a "Specialty Class" on one sheet wonders. We ended up making 10 cards and the ladies had a great time, even though they were stamping and assembling non-stop for 4 hours!! Everyone had a nice variety of cards to take home. I will post one card each day to show. I used a template from a fellow SCSer -- thanks Trish DeFoggi!!

I used Bodacious Bouquet as my stamp set for the main sheet. My colors were Cranberry crisp, Vintage violet, True thyme, and Marigold morning. I figured one last time of demostrating these colors before they go away forever!

I believe doing OSW cards is meant to be a time saver -- multiple cards from one sheet of cardstock. However, I needed to add the details that I so very much love. This card made use of buttons, cord, brads, distressing, piercing, background stamp, tag punch, ribbon, staple and dimensionals. And this is just the first card!!! No wonder it took four hours to complete them all!!!

Be on the lookout for the rest of the cards! Thanks for taking a peek!!

Swaps Galore

I have a real bad habit of signing up for too many swaps. One in particular on SCS is the Different Kind of Swap. Recipes are given for specific stamp sets and then you create your card. This one was to use a spring mini set and DSP. The size of the card had to be 4.25 square too. I pulled out my mini envelope template (needed to dust it off too!). Simple but I like it.

Using Up Scraps

That darn scrap bin never gets any smaller though!!! I cased this layout from a fellow SCSer. Used some background paper by Dreamstreet that I actually made two scrapbook pages from!! I submitted them to our local scrapbook store for a monthly contest -- prizes are store gift certificates!! I won second place last month, my first time submitting too!
Anyway, back to the card, I also used Close to coca, Sahara sand, Certainly celery, and Bliss blue. Love those scallop punches!!!!! The flower center, the flower, the scallop circle, and the oval giggle are all popped up with dimensionals.

DSS Round 2

Isn't this a gorgeous card!!!!! I received it yesterday from my DSS -- Divine Secret Sibling. For the next 3 months my "Big Sis" will send cards and an occassional goodie then the end of July will reveal herself to me. It is a lot of fun. I send cards and gifts to my Little Sis, but unfortunately I can't post the cards, just in case she's looking!!!

This card was stamped, the insides of the flowers bleached out, and colored with reinkers. Fantastic job Sis!! Keep looking, I'll be posting them on my blog for all to see!!!!!

April Showers Bring May Flowers

Well if April showers bring May flowers, what do May flowers bring???????????????????????????????????
Pilgrims!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Okay, that was a joke from my 11 year old! Yeah, he got me on that one too!
I finally used some images I received from the generous ladies of Wish RAK. I was thrilled to use this happy guy along with some scraps of background paper. I love the bold brights! Such a fun card to make. It is going for a swap but I did make sure I made extras!!!
