Thinking Of You

Here's another WRAK challenge card -- a thinking of you card to send to the hospitalized service men and women. It needed to be fall colors and ribbon as the only embellishment. I desperately wanted to add some brads to this, but followed the rules instead. I had received the Basic Grey designer paper via WRAK which I thought was good to build on for my fall colors -- Riding hood red, Tangerine tango, Blush blossom. And the ribbon, yep, you guessed it, is the chocolate chip wide satin ribbon. Love that stuff!!!! The sentiment is by Papertrey Ink. Love that site!!!!!

Labor Day Wish RAK Challenges all Weekend

And I am hosting one of the challenges. This is my card for it -- female birthday card with two twists...first use something you received thru WRAK (for my card it is the Morning Soft image) and secondly to use a SCS Color Challenge. My colors are Taken with teal, Certainly celery and Real red. I was concerned at first that it might look Christmasy, but I'm liking it more and more. The ribbon is from Papertrey Ink's latest release. It's gorgeous!! Thanks for looking. I'll be posting more as I complete the challenges.

VSN Felt Challenge

This VSN challenge called for using felt or flock on your card. Well I don't own any flocking so I immediately thought of the felt flowers I've been hoarding. The sentiment is from the new release at Verve Stamps. I used some of the new SU In Colors - Kiwi kiss, Tangerine tango, Non-SU brown, and Rose red DSP. I love the wide satin ribbon, I keep a spool of it on my desk at all times, that way it's within arms' reach! Now I know I'm going to have to order the new colors of felt flowers in the new SU catalog!! Now my wish list has just gotten longer!!!! Will it every stop? Gosh I hope not!!!

VSN Purple Challenge

This weekend is VSN on SCS. This card was made for a challenge asking for purple to be used on a card --- now that's a real challenge for me as I'm not a big purple fan. I used the stamp set by Close to my Heart called Spring Equinox (hence the sentiment "No matter how long the winter, spring is sure to follow"). I used Elegant eggplant for my purple along with So Saffron and Handsome hunter. The stem was inked in hunter then I used an aquapainter to smear some of the ink to give it a watercolored effect. A little ribbon and I was done in plenty of time.

Welcome to the Beach

This seagull often greeted us on our way to the beach. We had a most wonderful vacation!! 7 days just isn't long enough. We weren't ready to leave when it was time. I wanted to stay another week, didn't think anyone would miss us if we didn't come home!! Several days were cloudy, one day rained, but I still got sunburned!!! I got several scrapbook pages done while I was there, all ready for the new vacation pictures!! Now back to reality -- stamp camp is Sunday, VSN is Friday and Saturday (I'm hosting a challenge Saturday nite, hope to see you there!), and work is happenin' fast and furious! I hope to get everything done so I can stamp for fun.

ON VACATION!!!

Greetings from the Outer Banks!! We made it and we couldn't be happier. The house we rented is right on the beach...Happy Anniversary to us! What an absolutely stunning view. We arrived yesterday and little Kevin wasn't feeling well. What a time to get sick!! A dose of Tylenol and a good night sleep and he's up and ready to go!! We've already tried out the pool and hot tub, today the beach will next! I did bring some cards to finish, images to color and scrapbook pages to complete. My evenings are full!

Color Throwdown #4

My good bloggin friend Heather (The Best in Life...) posted these color challenges from Color Throwdown --- Almost amethyst, Certainly celery, Basic black. Since I don't use purples much, I figured this would be a good one to start out with! I always pull out Blossoms Abound when I need some inspiration so I am sad to see it retiring. I stamped the French Script over top the flower (stamped on shimmery white) then sponged the edges. This was the first time using the SU build a brad and I love it!!!! The background paper is by Memory Box, Sprout. Hard to see but I paper pierced the upper right corner too. Thanks for stopping by. Have a great day!

Remembrance of You

I really enjoy the Sunday Featured Stamper challenge on SCS. This week's Featured Stamper is Shellapoo. I cased this card from Michelle's gallery...http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/photo/909696?cat=500&ppuser=133522. I loved the layout and immediately thought about pulling out my Score It to score the larger vanilla layer. Colors include chocolate chip, river rock, old olive and very vanilla. The layer of DSP was distressed and sponged. I used a scripture from the Papertrey Ink's set called Everyday Blessings. Had to add my all time favorite ribbon too, wide chocolate satin!! . The dew drops finish it off. Thanks for stopping by!
