Clearly Inspired Sketch Challenge

Welcome to another fun and fabulous Clearly Inspired Challenge. I am excited about this one because it's a sketch challenge, and I do love sketch challenges!!!!
For this great sketch I needed a yummy image, and I got it with a digital set from Clear Dollar Stamps called Pumpkin Pie. Check this out, for one low price, you get one line art image, one pre-colored image, four sentiments and 3 papers...AMAZING!!! I used the pre-colored image as well as two of the papers. By using the PNG version of the image, I was able to merge the sentiment into place anywhere I wanted it!! I get excited when things I've learned about digital stamping I can get to work!!!!! Be sure and join us for this challenge for your chance to win some wonderful prizes. Check out all the details HERE on Lori's blog.

Happy Fall

I have always liked fall - the leaves in those gorgeous colors of yellow, oranges and reds are the most beautiful sight to behold. Okay, they are a pain when they fall to the ground and need raked up, but even that can turn into something fun!!!

You know what else is fun, our new challenge at the Fresh Brewed Blog - fall or autumn theme. I used a Fresh Brewed Designs digital stamp called Autumn Angel Cake. This digi was actually a Mocha Manic Monday freebie - the first Monday of every month Heather offers a digital stamp for free for one day only. Wow, September is almost over, so that means a new Mocha Manic Monday is just around the corner!!!! I used Cajun craze and Peach parfait as well as scraps of dsp. Some sewing, gold brads and brown candy dots finish this card off. Just keeping it simple.

This week has been absolutely crazy! Can't believe it's Thursday already!! My in-laws are coming today - how does this sound for a menu - pork/hot dogs and sauerkraut in the crock pot, mashed potatoes, corn, bread, brownies and peach pie. I'm hoping for leftovers!!!! Good thing I'm working out this morning!!!! Have a great day.

A Happy B-day to You!

And a Happy Wednesday to you too!! Time to show off a new sketch for Sweet Sketch Wednesday. Isn't it wonderful?!! I don't know how Arlana keeps coming up with these awesome sketches.

Meljen's Designs is our generous sponsor this week. The winner will receive, for FREE, 4 digis of their choice!!!! I adore Meljen's Designs, talk about whimsy!!!

I used the image Fireman Bear on my card. How totally sweet is he!! I wanted to keep him in the primary colors because I needed to make a little boy's birthday card! Found a piece of scrap paper in my bin that was perfect. Have fun with this one! Can't wait to see what you create for a chance at winning 4 free digis from Meljen's Designs.

A Wacky Howdy!

Yep, I finally got my card done for the Wacky Wednesday Challenge Bugaboo Stamps is having over at PCP and CDAC. This week we were to find inspiration from the site Gypsyville. I was inspired by the western theme prevalent throughout the site. Thought I would use some of my own junk, I mean scraps and brads!! The image is Wee One Cowboy and can be found HERE and the sentiment is from THIS image.

Well we just had a big rumble of thunder so I guess it's time to get off the computer. Have a great day and hope to see you again tomorrow.

Who Doesn't Love Fall

I love fall, with the cooler weather and gorgeous colors. The color combo we are challenging you with at Picture Perfect Creations screams fall to me.
And here is my card to prove it!!!! Oh so simple and super quick to make! I did sponge around the Calypso coral ovals with Pumpkin pie ink for a little dimension. The Old olive swirl is a punch while the leaves are a die cut. A month or two ago I did some major cleaning in my stamp room, and now I can't find a leaf punch that I know I have that I wanted to use for this card!!! Oh well, these leaves work too!! I put my Scor-pal to use for the scored border and a simple AMuse sentiment and rhinestones finished it off. Told you super quick!!!! Now I can't wait to see what you create using the colors Calypso coral, Old olive and Basic black.

A Better Day Today!

Boy was I grumpy yesterday. Amazing what a day can make, especially when sleep finds you!!!! I've made two cards today, this being one of them. A while back I challenged myself to use all of the stamps in an unused stamp set by Gina K Designs called Enjoy the Sunshine. I put no time limit on myself but did want to keep them simple. So, what do you think of the flowers? They were purple with a yellow center until I started coloring the leaves and decided this was meant to be a geranium!!! So I colored right over top with red!! Love my Copics!! Be sure and come back tomorrow, I have a fun new card to show that I'm proud of for the Picture Perfect Creations color challenge. Hopefully you'll be able to play along too.

I'm off to do some cleaning, in-laws are coming Thursday. Tonight is the Steeler game, GO BLACK AND GOLD!!!

It's Sketch Challenge Time

It's Saturday morning and let me warn you, I'm very cranky and in a very bad mood. I will keep this short and sweet. When you spend more time awake at night than asleep might have something to do with it!! And the fact that when the rest of the family is up and at 'em, they believe you should be too!!! See, this is why I need to keep it short because I could go on and on!

My card is for the wonderful sketch at Tuesday Morning Sketches. I used from Clear Dollar Stamps the Elegant Accents stamp set and coordinating die. I love the fancy oval die cut that additional embellishments look so lovely on!

Thanks for stopping by and for putting up with my sour mood. Today can only get better, right?!

Keep It Simple Silly

I mentioned in yesterday's post (please scroll down and check out our Breast Cancer Awareness Blog Hop) about simple cards. Well, I made another one because this is the challenge over at Freshly Brewed Challenges. We'd love for you to play along and, if you're like me, keeping it simple can be a challenge in and of itself!! Staying along our breast cancer theme, I used a new digital stamp from Fresh Brewed Designs called Latte Awareness. You can read all about this digital as well as the new Save the HOOters rubber stamp set and more HERE.

And don't forget, Fresh Brewed Designs is also sponsoring the Link Up For Pink. This linking party will be held from October 1 - 14. Every project linked will be pink themed and there will be lots of opportunities for prizes. Grab the badge and be sure to save the date!

Breast Cancer Awareness Blog Hop Take 2

Good Morning and thank you for joining in on the Fresh Brewed Designs Save The Hooters blog hop. I am the first stop on the hop so sit back and enjoy.

We are so happy that you are joining us today as we spread smiles, share beautiful projects and most of all raise awareness.

The word Cancer is one that makes us all cringe and sometimes turn away. That does not make it GO AWAY, it just means we try to avoid talking about it and pretending it is not there.
It is there and it is a reality. I know most of us have had family or friends who have been diagnosed with a form of cancer or know someone who has died of cancer related causes.
One of those cancers is Breast Cancer.

In the year 2011 in the United States alone
approximately 230,480 new cases of invasive breast cancer in women have been reported, approximately 57,650 new cases of carcinoma in situ (CIS) will be found (CIS is non-invasive and is the earliest form of breast cancer, and approximately 39,520 deaths from breast cancer (women).

Fresh Brewed Designs has created a brand new rubber stamp set as well as several digital stamps in which part of your purchase will be donated to Chemo Angels.
If you have not heard about Chemo Angels we suggest you look them up. They are a wonderful organization. They support all forms of cancer as well as have ways to donate in the form of time, cards, as well as monetary donations. To find out more about how Fresh Brewed Designs will be taking part, read here.

For today I chose to use the new rubber stamp set Save the HOOters. I also chose to keep it simple, but come back another day and I'll get more into that!
Perfect for paper piecing. I love "the girls" tucked inside the pretty blingy bra! I think it was meant to be my participating in this hop. Not only do I have friends who have survived breast cancer (three cheers for fabulous and brave Gina and Vivian!!!) but I am scheduled for my mammogram tomorrow morning, bright and early. I'll be glad when it's done, then I will treat myself to a pumpkin spice latte at Starbucks!!

Fresh Brewed Designs is also sponsoring the Link Up For Pink.
This linking party will be held from October 1 - 14. Every project linked will be pink themed and there will be lots of opportunities for prizes. Grab the badge and be sure to save the date!

If you purchase the featured BCA stamp set or any of the BCA digital stamps, be sure to be watching for a special link in the tabs under the blog header at Freshly Brewed Challenges.
There will be a special link up challenge just for you starting October 1st. We will allow back linking as long as you are using these images.

Which Witch is Which??

A show of hands please for those who look forward to Wednesdays so they can see the new sketch Arlana comes up with!! It's a beaut this week! Be sure and check it out along with the rest of the DTs creations at Sweet Sketch Wednesday. And who is our wonderful sponsor this week you ask...

Why it's Sally Ann from DigiStamp Boutique. She is the most wonderful and generous person, and she is offering a prize to the winner of 6 free digital images!! Thank you Sally Ann!

I had loads of fun with this image, Izzy - Cutey Witch. I do enjoy making Halloween cards and she is one sweetie of a witch! Because of all the wonderful layers Arlana's sketches offer, I'm able to use up more and more scraps, just like I did here!!! And funny, how when you clean up your stamping space, you can find things that you forgot you had, like this pumpkin button!!! Can't wait to see what you come up with for our sketch this week!!

Quirky Kangaroo

Bet this kangaroo made you smile!! It's a precolored digital stamp from Doodle Pantry called Quirky Kangaroo and can be found HERE. I love all of Laurie's quirky animals!! Now this set comes with digital paper too, but I found a few slivers of scrap paper and went with that. A fun, quick and easy card, perfect to mail off to a friend. I am submitting this for the Doodle Pantry Digital Challenge - use a Doodle Pantry image. And just for playing along and following the rules, participants receive the adorable set, Popsicle Ants, for free! Who wouldn't want that!!!

This is my second post for today. Scroll down to see a Thanksgiving card (yes, I said Thanksgiving) I made with a Bugaboo image. I'm off to workout with the trainer this morning then tonight Open House and dinner with friends afterwards. Another full day!!!

Happy Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving already?!! Won't be long! Besides, I wanted to play along in Bugaboo Stamps Wacky Wednesday color challenge - Red, Orange, Yellow and Green. Of course I immediately thought of fall. I just got this image, Bobblehead Thanksgiving Indian Boy, and couldn't wait to get him on a card. The papers are, of course, scraps and the sentiment is from PaperTrey Ink. Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

Got Paper?

I know we all do, an overflowing scrap bin of designer papers! We at Picture Perfect Creations want to challenge you to create a project using three DIFFERENT papers. Yep, mine are all scraps! My image is a precolored digital stamp from Clear Dollar Stamps called Patchpal Lamb and comes with 2 images, 3 sentiments and 3 digital papers. I opted not to do any sewing, wanted to keep this one crisp and clean. Now we'd love to see your creations using 3 different papers. Be sure and link your blog post HERE.

Join Us for a Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to our monthly blog hop here at Clear Dollar Stamps. Hope you are enjoying yourself so far. You should have arrived here from Cassie's blog. If not, please go back to the beginning at Lori's blog.

Our theme this month was a color challenge.

These colors are the most recent addition to our card stock, ribbon and markers line...aren't they great?!!! I love 'em!!

Now I don't know if I bent the rules a little bit or not, but instead of making one card with all three colors, I made 3 cards each using one color and the same stamp set!! First I'm starting with Berry blast. The stamp set is Blooming With Blessings, so versatile and fun to use.

Here's the Kiwi Delight card.

And last but not least, the Orange Whip card. So fun, that's for sure.

Now you have more see, and you won't want to miss a moment. Visit all the blogs in the hop and leave comments. It will increase your chances at being our winner of a most awesome prize, a $25 gift certificate for digital stamps at Clear Dollar Stamps.

Next on our hop is Stacy's blog. Enjoy!

I Heart You

That's the theme for the challenge over at City Crafter, and Fresh Brewed Designs is the sponsor. I used the stamp Love Mug which happens to be the prize being given away to one lucky winner. I was able to incorporate two hearts into my card, the one on the mug that is all sparkled up with Stickles as well as the new heart shaped rhinestone I just picked up at my local stamp store. The designer paper is Basic Grey's Bittersweet, colors of card stock include Kraft and Chocolate chip, I used Crystal Effects for the coffee inside the mug, and, the sketch is this week's Sweet Sketch Wednesday. I found some ribbon that I bought a long time ago and, of course, never used...until now. Thanks for stopping in and enjoy your Saturday.

Get all Gittered Up!

It's the 3rd Friday in September (hard to believe) so it's time for our Clearly Inspired Challenge. For this challenge we want you to use glitter - a lot or a little, that's up to you, but let's get sparkly!

As I am not a huge glitter fan (GASP!), I only used a little bit on the cherry of this stamp from Clear Dollar Stamps called Ice Cream Cone. I should have used this card for our last Clearly Inspired Challenge to use pattern paper, there's a lot of it here! I used the Watermelon Gazpacho Soup dsp by Jillibean Soup...check it out HERE. The Happy Birthday sentiment stamp is also from CDS and can be found HERE. So time to get all glittered up!!!

It's a Digi Day

It's always fun to see what new digital stamps Clear Dollar Stamps is releasing every month, but when they are this fabulous I'm over the moon!!! This card I used the set by our newest illustrator, Deedee Anderson, called Sunshine & Smiles. I love sunflowers so this was definite one on my list to use!! I feed the birds, and often have random sunflowers growing throughout my landscaping that they have planted.

Way to adorable is what this next set is by Laurie Wilson, Birthday Fall Critters Color. It includes the outline images as well as 3 digital papers, 2 of which you see here. I still can't quit chuckling from the sentiment and his little beanie on top of his head!

There are several other sets you don't want to miss seeing so head on over to Lori's blog, Clearly iStamp. You'll see lots of inspiration from other DT members too. Enjoy the day.

Celebrate in Style

This Girly Girl looks like she is ready to party!!! Why the black and gold you ask...well to play along with the challenge over at Freshly Brewed Challenges, Football - creating a card with a football theme and/or your favorite team's colors. I think all of you know I am a HUGE Pittsburgh Steeler fan (yes, I know, we got our butts kicked last week, but I don't want to talk about it!), so I had to go with my beloved black and gold. And what better way to "Celebrate in Style" than with this newly released Fresh Brewed Designs rubber stamp, All Dressed Up. Her dress is paper pieced, not easy to do with black ink stamped on black dsp. I did get to use up a tiny bit of my many, many scraps of dsp. I meant to emboss the yellow layer with an embossing folder, but became distracted watching Top Chef Just Desserts while making my card and totally missed that step.

Such a busy day ahead, hope I can find some time to relax and stamp!! Enjoy your Thursday.

Hello There Pixie

Happy over the hump day and welcome to another Sweet Sketch Wednesday. Whether you've played our challenges before or this is your first time, you are going to LOVE this sketch! Your card will come together quickly so I suspect we will see lots and lots of creations this week!!!

A Day for Daisies is our generous sponsor this week, providing our winner with a $12 gift certificate to their store. Stop in and browse, you will love what you see there!

I had chosen this fabulous image called Pixie Gift...isn't it absolutely darling?!!! Usually I find my color palette thru the papers I choose at the start. This time I colored the image with Copic markers then hmmmm, I hope I have some paper with pinks, greens and lavenders! Amazingly enough, with the vast paper collection I have, I found some, Basic Grey's Euphoria. And every pixie deserves some glitz, so I sparkled up her wings, the little flowers, and even my pink rose got Stickled! Quick and easy like I said, and it all started with a magnificent sketch. Looking forward to seeing your inspirations this week! Speaking of inspiration, be sure to check out what the DT created with their A Day for Daisies images at the Sweet Sketch Wednesday challenge blog.

Wacky Wednesday Sketch

I'm cuttin' this one close since today is Tuesday!!! But I couldn't pass up Bugaboo's Wacky Wednesday challenge at Paper Craft Planet and CDAC because it's a sketch. Plus I couldn't pass up using Eggbert Winter...isn't he adorable??!! I still had some scraps of Wisteria Wonder dsp on my desk so I decided to use it along with Bashful Blue that I also found in my scrap bin. Love the sketch, as well as the non-traditional colors. Fun to make. Speaking of fun, today I'm having lunch with friends then a little happy stamping time at the stamp store! Who could ask for more!!

A Picture Perfect Merry Christmas

Happy Monday and welcome to our Picture Perfect Creations color challenge - Whisper white, Wisteria wonder and Pool party.

My mind went straight to Christmas with this one! I love non-traditional colors for Christmas cards and this one sure fit the bill. I went with my fave 4.25" square card, a PaperTrey Ink sentiment, and a fun little snowflake die cut. Once I found some time to sit down and make this card, it went together in no time. We'd love to see what you can make with these colors too, so play along with our Picture Perfect Creations color challenge.

Our month long challenge at the Fresh Brewed Blog is to use Something New. Now I know we all have something that fits the theme!!!!! Even those of us who insist on using up our "stuff" first have caved and bought something new!!!!! My "something new" is the designer paper from My Mind's Eye called 12 Days of Christmas. I love the colors in this pack - reds, greens, pinks and blues. Now I'm going to stretch the rules a little bit here and say my digital image is "new" also. I got Pageant Angel a long, long time ago from Fresh Brewed Designs and am just now using it!! So to me, it's NEW!!!!! I paper pieced her gown and sparkled up her halo. You have all month to join us and remember, this is a prize challenge!!!!
You MUST come back for a visit tomorrow because it is the Fresh Brewed Designs blog hop to show off the new rubber stamp release!!!! You will be thrilled and amazed at the new release!!! So be sure and join us tomorrow...I'll even provide the coffee!!!!!

Have a Magical Day!

Today both of my boys will finally be in school!! This seems very late this year. I'm meeting several friends for lunch at a yummy Mexican restaurant, how fun!!! What else is fun is our challenge at Sweet Sketch Wednesday. We are actually re-visiting a sketch from the past this week, and I know it's one you will use again and again too.

Happy Anniversary

Happy Tuesday!! I have to keep reminding myself what day it is, with yesterday being a holiday, it always messes me up! Looking at my calendar of cards that I need to send out this month, I see I have two anniversaries. This was one of several images I had colored on vacation and thought it would be perfect. I found this paper too and knew it was all meant to be! The image is from Fresh Brewed Designs and called Dancing Peppers. I'm submitting this for an Anything Goes challenge over at Crafting When We Can. Not only is it their very first challenge, but also Heather from Fresh Brewed Designs is sponsoring...how fun!!!

It's a Picture Perfect Day

Since they are calling for cold and rain today, perfect for staying in and stamping. And would you look at these wonderful, bright colors we are challenging you with at Picture Perfect Creations - Pumpkin pie, Lucky limeade, Rose red and Island indigo. Such fabulous colors to get your creative juices flowing!

And here is my card using these colors. I love 'em, they are so fun and summery. I found myself really far behind on my DT cards so I wanted something quick to put together...and this was it. Some embossing, die cutting and stamping the sentiment, and this card was done! Good thing because I have LOTS more to do!!!

Spent the day at my parents' on Saturday. We had a fun time, it was just way too HOT!!! Took Phillip to a branch campus of the University of Pittsburgh that is literally minutes from my parents' house. He loved walking around this beautiful, very rustic campus. We then drove past my high school...ahhhhh the memories.
